The first consultation is R1500.

Subsequent consultations are R800.

Consultations do not include procedures like Lung function and Allergy testing. These are only done if needed and can only be determined at the consultation.

Lung function tests is R200 (for Peak Flow test) and R800 (for Spirometry lung function test). Lung function tests are performed on older kids and adults to confirm the diagnosis and monitor the control of asthma.

Skin Prick allergy tests is R800.

Allergy blood test are charged by the laboratory and are about R450 per allergen. The allergen/s that need to be tested for can only be determined at the consultation. Since most of the common allergies can be tested with skin prick testing, blood tests are seldom required.

Bee / Wasp Immunotherapy & Desensitisation currently costs approximately R8000 for the initiation phase over 3-4 months, thereafter R1000 per month for the next 3-5 years. Grass Pollen / Tree Pollen / Animal / Mould / House Dust Mite Immunotherapy & Desensitisation currently costs approximately R800 per month for approximately 3-5 years. Salicylate / Aspirin desensitisation is R2500 (approximately 4 hours per day over 2 days)

Oral or intradermal food / drug challenge test is R2500 (approximately 5 hours over 1 day)
